Mental health and psychosocial networking
A space to develop ideas on the most effective ways of promoting networking to improve mental health and psychosocial well being in extreme stress settings.
This on-line resource forms part of a wider concern to promote networking between the diversity of people concerned with mental health and psychosocial wellbeing in situations of extreme stress.
In September 2007 a joint meeting of the IASC task force and the Psychosocial Working Group along with colleagues involved in running regional networks was held in Geneva. The meeting considered the opportunities for facilitating networking, and a sub group agreed to draft a proposal. This prototype web site has been developed as part of that initiative, with support from UNICEF. The web site, along with the wider plan is currrently still in its formative stages, and its organisational structure is being explored.
In the very near future I hope to post up some information about that plan, and get the discussion going be raising some issues about the potential ways forward. (This posting itself is by way on an experiment to see how easy it is to set up a group!)
